When our homes disappeared – we rose together
The initiative started in Malmö, where a group of people came together in the hope of making a difference for families in Gaza who had lost their homes. Together with the Nordisk Hjälp team on the ground in Gaza, this commitment is now being transformed into concrete action.
Nordisk Hjälp is establishing two organized tent areas – one in Gaza City and one in Khan Younis. Here, families will have the opportunity to sleep in warmth, create a sense of everyday life, and regain a feeling of stability in the midst of difficult times.
Why tent areas? Because safety is built together
A tent area provides more than just protection from the weather. It gives families the opportunity to be close to one another, share everyday life, and support each other. It provides space for recovery, calm, and community.

What the Malmö Tent Initiative makes possible
With support from donors, the Nordisk Hjälp team in Gaza can:
- establish a tent area in Gaza City and one in Khan Younis
- equip the tents with what is needed for warmth and everyday life
- create safe places where families can start over
