Life in the “liberated” areas of Syria has come to a standstill. Millions are stuck in refugee camps on the border with Turkey, on an area larger than the whole of Lebanon. They live in tents and can neither get out of the country nor create a life there. When we recently visited one refugee camp, we met a ten-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a doctor, it’s incredibly heartbreaking considering that there is basically no opportunity to get an education there.
Since a constructive and long-term solution seems distant, Nordisk Hjälp invests in building houses for these families living in refugee camps in Syria on the Turkish border. People must be able to start building a life and be able to fulfill their dreams.
