During Ramadan, there is an increase in commitment and willingness to contribute to humanitarian work. For Nordisk Hjälp it is also the time of year when we have the greatest opportunity to translate compassion into concrete action – with dignity and real impact.
The needs in the areas where we work are often greatest during this time. For many families, it is a matter of something as basic as access to food. Food packages are therefore a central part of our work during Ramadan, enabling families to get through a daily life marked by economic vulnerability and uncertainty.
At the same time, we know from many years of experience that donations during Ramadan are crucial to our ability to act in the long term. A large part of our efforts during the year, both emergency and long-term, are made possible thanks to the support provided right now.
For us, dignity is about how aid is designed and implemented. This means that we work closely with local communities, with frameworks that are sustainable over time and with full transparency in how resources are used. Real impact means that efforts are followed up, developed, and adapted to actual needs, whether it is food packages, access to clean water, education, or other basic requirements for a secure life.
Donations during Ramadan are used for food packages that contribute to security in everyday life. When access to food is secured, it creates breathing space in everyday life, reduces anxiety, and improves conditions for managing other basic needs. In this way, food packages not only contribute to immediate relief, but also to stability and the opportunity to build towards a more secure future. This is how we ensure that the aid not only reaches its destination, but also makes a real difference.
Contributing during Ramadan means contributing to humanitarian work that focuses on responsibility, dignity, and long-term impact.
